SEFYDLFA GYMREIG BRADFORD.
Y Sefydlfa hon sydd a rhan o honi yn swydd Bradford a
rhan yn swydd Suaquehanna, Pa., - 20 milltir i’r De o Owego, cymaint a hyny o Montrose,
a chymaint a hyny hefyd o'r Towanda; mae ynddi tua deugain o deuluoedd o Gymry.
Nid hawdd hysbysu ei hyd a’i lled; ond y mae y Cymry, y rhan amlaf o honynt, yn
lled gryno gyda eu gilydd. Yn nghylch y tir, afreidiol yw dyweyd wrth y rhai
sydd arferol a theithio y dalaith yma - ei fod yn amrywio, gwastad ac anwastad.
Nid yw y tir coed yn helaeth iawn yma; mae yr ardal yn lled iachus, y dwfr yn
dda. Pris y tir coed yw o dair a haner i bedair dolar yr erw. coed yw maple, hemlock, beech, &c. Mae 4 neu
5 o felinau llifio yn perthynu i’r Sefydlfa - dwy o honynt tua chwe' milltir
oddi yma. Codir llafur lled dda yma fynychaf; ond mwy naturiol yw y tir at wair
a phorfa. Mewn gair mae y Cymry yn gwneud yn lled dda yma - eu rhifedi yn
fawrion ac yn fychain sydd tua dall cant a haner.
Mewn perthynas i bethau crefyddol gallwn ddyweyd ei
bod yn lled gysurol yn bresenol, trwy drugaredd. Mae yma ddwy eglwys - un yn
perthyn i'r Henaduriaethwyr ac un i'r Annibynwyr. Ychydig o hanes y ddiweddaf
wyf yn fwriadu ei roi, gyda dywcyd un gair - y mae yn perthyn i’r un
Henaduriaethol o bymtheg i ugain o aelodau, ac y mae yn perthyn i'r un
Annibynol oddeutu deugain o aelodau. Y mae y cydweithrediad goreu yn bresenol a
welais un amser o’r blaen; y mae gyda ni rai o’r hen Fethodistiaid a rhai o'r
Bedyddwyr, arwydd o berffaith undeb rhyngom oll, a phob enaid n gwaeddi,
“Parhaed brawdgarwch.” Nid oes un ychwanegiad wedi bod yn ddiweddar iawn; eto
tua blwyddyn yn ol, fe chwanegwyd at ein heggwys ni rai personau; ac un peth,
ein Hybarch Olygydd a’n Brawd anwyl, sydd o gryfder neillduol i'r achos yma,
fod tafodau rhai ag oedd fel wedi glynu wrth daflod eu genau wedi cael eu
gollwng yn rhydd i alw ar enw yr Arglwydd, a chanmol goludoedd gras, sef y
chwiorydd; pan y bernir gan rai nad yw ddim yn gyfreithlon iddynt wneud hyny yn
gyhoeddus, eto ymdrechant. ymaflant yn ngrym yr addewidion, a chan nas gall yr
Arglwydd ddim gwadu ei hun, y mae arwyddion neillduol o bresenoldeb Duw yn eu
cyfarfodydd.
Trefniadau ein cyfarfodydd sydd fel y canlyn: y mae
cwrdd pregethu bob bore Sabboth, ysgol am ddau; cwrdd gweddi a society bob yn ail wythnos; cwrdd gweddi
y chwiorydd bob yn ail nos Fawrth. Mae yn rhaid tynu tua therfynu, gan ddymuno
llwyddiant i chwi a'r Cenhadwr. Wyf yn dychwelyd fy niolchgarwch i chwi am fy
anrhegu â'r Dyngarwr.
