Epistolau Sant Paul: At yr Hebreaid

PENNOD 1
1:1 Duw, wedi iddo lefaru lawer gwaith a llawer modd gynt wrth y tadau trwy’r proffwydi, yn y dyddiau diwethaf hyn a lefarodd wrthym ni yn ei Fab;
1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

1:2 Yr hwn a wnaeth efe yn etifedd pob peth, trwy yr hwn hefyd y gwnaeth efe y bydoedd:
1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

1:3 Yr hwn, ac efe yn ddisgleirdeb ei ogoniant ef, ac yn wir lun ei berson ef, ac yn cynnal pob peth trwy air ei nerth, wedi puro ein pechodau ni trwyddo ef ei hun, a eisteddodd ar ddeheulaw y Mawredd yn y goruwch leoedd;
1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

1:4 Wedi ei wneuthur o hynny yn well na’r angylion, o gymaint ag yr etifeddodd efe enw mwy rhagorol na hwynt-hwy.
1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

1:5 Canys wrth bwy o’r angylion y dywedodd efe un amser, Fy mab ydwyt ti; myfi heddiw a’th genhedlais di? A thrachefn, Myfi a fyddaf iddo ef yn Dad, ac efe a fydd i mi yn Fab?
1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

1:6 A thrachefn, pan yw yn dwyn y Cyntaf-anedig i’r byd, y mae yn dywedyd, Ac addoled holl angylion Duw ef.
1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

1:7 Ac am yr angylion y mae yn dywedyd, Yr hwn sydd yn gwneuthur ei angylion yn ysbrydion, a’i weinidogion yn fflam dân.
1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

1:8 Ond wrth y Mab, Dy orseddfainc di, O Dduw, sydd yn oes oesoedd: teyrnwialen uniondeb yw teyrnwialen dy deyrnas di.
1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

1:9 Ti a geraist gyfiawnder, ac a gaseaist anwiredd: am hynny y’th eneiniodd Duw, sef dy Dduw di, ag olew gorfoledd tu hwnt i’th gyfeillion.
1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

1:10 Ac, Tydi yn y dechreuad, Arglwydd, a sylfaenaist y ddaear; a gwaith dy ddwylo di yw y nefoedd:
1:10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

1:11 Hwynt-hwy a ddarfyddant; ond tydi sydd yn parhau; a hwynt-hwy oll fel dilledyn a heneiddiant;
1:11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

1:12 Ac megis gwisg y plygi di hwynt, a hwy a newidir: ond tydi yr un ydwyt, a’th flynyddoedd ni phallant.
1:12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

1:13 Ond wrth ba un o’r angylion y dywedodd efe un amser, Eistedd ar fy neheulaw, hyd oni osodwyf dy elynion yn droedfainc i’th draed?
1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

1:14 Onid ysbrydion gwasanaethgar ydynt hwy oll, wedi eu danfon i wasanaethu er mwyn y rhai a gânt etifeddu iachawdwriaeth?
1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

PENNOD 2
2:1 Am hynny y mae’n rhaid i ni ddal yn well ar y pethau a glywsom, rhag un amser i ni eu gollwng hwy i golli.
2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

2:2 Canys os bu gadarn y gair a lefarwyd trwy angylion, ac os derbyniodd pob trosedd ac anufudd-dod gyfiawn daledigaeth;
2:2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;

2:3 Pa fodd y dihangwn ni, os esgeuluswn iachawdwriaeth gymaint, yr hon, wedi dechrau ei thraethu trwy’r Arglwydd, a sicrhawyd i ni gan y rhai a’i clywsant ef:
2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

2:4 A Duw hefyd yn cyd-dystiolaethu, trwy arwyddion a rhyfeddodau, ac amryw nerthoedd, a doniau yr Ysbryd Glân, yn ôl ei ewyllys ei hun?
2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

2:5 Canys nid i’r angylion y darostyngodd efe y byd a ddaw, am yr hwn yr ydym yn llefaru.
2:5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.

2:6 Eithr un mewn rhyw fan a dystiolaethodd, gan ddywedyd. Pa beth yw dyn, i ti i feddwl amdano? neu fab dyn, i ti i ymweled ag ef?
2:6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

2:7 Ti a’i gwnaethost ef ychydig is na’r angylion: a gogoniant ac anrhydedd y coronaist ti ef, ac a’i gosodaist ef ar weithredoedd dy ddwylo:
2:7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

2:8 Ti a ddarostyngaist bob peth dan ei draed ef. Canys wrth ddarostwng pob peth iddo, ni adawodd efe ddim heb ddarostwng iddo. Ond yr awron nid
ydym ni eto yn gweled pob peth wedi eu darostwng iddo.
2:8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

2:9 Eithr yr ydym ni yn gweled Iesu, yr hwn a wnaed ychydig yn is na’r angylion, oherwydd dioddef marwolaeth, wedi ei goroni â gogoniant ac anrhydedd; fel trwy ras Duw y profai efe farwolaeth dros bob dyn.
2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

2:10 Canys gweddus oedd iddo ef, oherwydd yr hwn y mae pob peth, a thrwy yr hwn y mae pob peth, wedi iddo ddwyn meibion lawer i ogoniant, berffeithio Tywysog eu hiachawdwriaeth hwy trwy ddioddefiadau.
2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

2:11% Canys yr hwn sydd yn sancteiddio, a’r rhai a sancteiddir, o’r un y maent oll. Am ba achos nid yw gywilyddus ganddo eu galw hwy yn frodyr;
2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

2:12 Gan ddywedyd, Myfi a fynegaf dy enw di i’m brodyr; yng nghanol yr eglwys y’th folaf di.
2:12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.

2:13 A thrachefn, Myfi a fyddaf yn ymddiried ynddo. A thrachefn, Wele fi a’r plant a roddes Duw i mi.
2:13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

2:14 Oblegid hynny, gan fod y plant yn gyfranogion o gig a gwaed, yntau hefyd yr un modd a fu gyfrannog o’r un pethau; fel trwy farwolaeth y dinistriai efe yr hwn oedd â nerth marwolaeth ganddo, hynny yw, diafol;
2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

2:15 Ac y gwaredai hwynt, y rhai trwy ofn marwolaeth oeddynt dros eu holl fywyd dan gaethiwed.
2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

2:16 Canys ni chymerodd efe naturiaeth angylion; eithr had Abraham a gymerodd efe.
2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

2:17 Am ba achos y dylai efe ym mhob peth fod yn gyffelyb i’w frodyr, fel y byddai drugarog ac Archoffeiriad ffyddlon, mewn pethau yn perthyn i Dduw, i wneuthur cymod dros bechodau y bobl.
2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

2:18 Canys yn gymaint â dioddef ohono ef, gan gael ei demtio, efe a ddichon gynorthwyo’r rhai a demtir.
2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

PENNOD 3
3:1 Oherwydd paham, frodyr sanctaidd, cyfranogion o’r galwedigaefh nefol, ystyriwch Apostol ac Archoffeiriad ein cyffes ni, Crist Iesu;
3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

3:2 Yr hwn sydd ffyddlon i’r hwn a’i hordeiniodd ef, megis ag y bu Moses yn ei holl dy ef.
3:2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

3:3 Canys fe a gyfrifwyd hwn yn haeddu mwy gogoniant na Moses, o gymaint y mae yr hwn a adeiladodd y tŷ yn cael mwy o barch na’r tŷ.
3:3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

3:4 Canys pob tŷ a adeiledir gan ryw un; ond yr hwn a adeiladodd bob peth yw Duw.
3:4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

3:5 A Moses yn wir a fu ffyddlon yn ei holl dŷ megis gwas, er tystiolaeth i’r pethau oedd i’w llefaru;
3:5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

3:6 Eithr Crist, megis Mab ar ei dŷ ei hun: tŷ yr hwn ydym ni, os nyni a geidw ein hyder a gorfoledd ein gobaith yn sicr hyd y diwedd.
3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

3:7 Am hynny, megis y mae’r Ysbryd Glân yn dywedyd, Heddiw, os gwrandewch ar ei leferydd ef,
3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,

3:8 Na chaledwch eich calonnau, megis yn y cyffroad, yn nydd y profedigaeth yn y diffeithwch:
3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

3:9 Lie y temtiodd eich tadau fyfi, y profasant fi, ac y gwelsant fy ngweithredoedd ddeugain mlynedd.
3:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

3:10 Am hynny y digiais wrth y genhedlaeth honno, ac y dywedais, Y maent bob amser yn cyfeiliorni yn eu calonnau; ac nid adnabuant fy ffyrdd i:
3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

3:11 Fel y tyngais yn fy llid, na chaent ddyfod i mewn i’m gorffwysfa.
3:11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

3:12 Edrychwch, frodyr, na byddo un amser yn neb ohonoch galon ddrwg anghrediniaeth, gan ymado oddi wrth Dduw byw.
3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

3:13 Eithr cynghorwch eich gilydd bob dydd tra gelwir hi Heddiw; fel na chaleder neb ohonoch trwy dwyll pechod.
3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

3:14 Canys fe a’n gwnaed ni yn gyfranogion o Grist, os daliwn ddechreuad ein hyder yn sicr hyd y diwedd;
3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

3:15 Tra dywedir, Heddiw, os gwran- dewch ar ei leferydd ef, na chaledwch eich calonnau, megis yn y cyffroad.
3:15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

3:16 Canys rhai, wedi gwrando, a’i digiasant ef: ond nid pawb a’r a ddaethant o’r Aifft trwy Moses.
3:16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

3:17 Ond wrth bwy y digiodd efe ddeugain mlynedd? onid wrth y rhai a bechasant, y rhai y syrthiodd eu cyrff yn y diffeithwch?
3:17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

3:18 Ac wrth bwy y tyngodd efe, na i chaent hwy fyned i mewn i’w orffwysfa ef? onid wrth y rhai ni chredasant?
3:18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

3:19 Ac yr ydym ni yn gweled na allent hwy fyned i mewn oherwydd anghrediniaeth.
3:19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
 
PENNOD 4
4:1 Ofnwn gan hynny, gan fod addewid wedi ei adael i ni i fyned i mewn i’w orffwysfa ef, rhag bod neb ohonoch yn debyg i fod yn ôl.
4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

4:2 Canys i ninnau y pregethwyd yr efengyl, megis ag iddynt hwythau: eithr y gair a glybuwyd ni bu fuddiol iddynt hwy, am nad oedd wedi ei gyd-dymheru â ffydd yn y rhai a’i clywsant.
4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

4:3 Canys yr ydym ni, y rhai a gredasom, yn myned i mewn i’r orffwysfa, megis y dywedodd efe, Fel y tyngais yn fy llid, Os ânt i mewn i’m gorffwysfa i: er bod y gweithredoedd wedi eu gwneuthur er seiliad y byd.
4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

4:4 Canys efe a ddywedodd mewn man am y seithfed dydd fel hyn; A gorffwysodd Duw y seithfed dydd oddi wrth ei holl weithredoedd.
4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

4:5 Ac yma drachefn, Os ânt i mewn i’m gorffwysfa i.
4:5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

4:6 Gan hynny, gan fod hyn wedi ei adael, fod rhai yn myned i mewn iddi, ac nad aeth y rhai y pregethwyd yn gyntaf iddynt i mewn, oherwydd anghrediniaeth;
4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

4:7 Trachefn, y mae efe yn pennu rhyw ddiwrnod, gan ddywedyd yn Dafydd, Heddiw, ar ôl cymaint o amser; megis y dywedir, Heddiw, os gwrandewch ar ei leferydd ef, na chaledwch eich calonnau.
4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

4:8 Canys pe dygasai Jesus hwynt i orffwysfa, ni soniasai efe ar ôl hynny am ddiwrnod arall.
4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

4:9 Y mae gan hynny orffwysfa eto yn ôl i bobl Dduw.
4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

4:10 Canys yr hwn a aeth i mewn i’w orffwysfa ef, hwnnw hefyd a orffwysodd oddi wrth ei weithredoedd ei hun, megis y gwnaeth Duw oddi wrth yr eiddo yntau.
4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

4:11 Byddwn ddyfal gan hynny i fyned i mewn i’r orffwysfa honno, fel na syrthio i neb yn ôl yr un siampl o anghrediniaeth.
4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

4:12 Canys bywiol yw gair Duw, a nerthol, a llymach nag un cleddyf daufiniog, ac yn cyrhaeddyd trwodd hyd wahaniad yr enaid a’r ysbryd, a’r cymalau a’r mêr; ac yn barnu meddyliau a bwriadau’r galon.
4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

4:13 Ac nid oes greadur anamlwg yn ei olwg ef: eithr pob peth sydd yn noeth ac yn agored i’w lygaid ef am yr hwn yr ydym yn son.
4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

4:14 Gan fod wrth hynny i ni Archoffeiriad mawr, yr hwn a aeth i’r nefoedd, Iesu Mab Duw, glynwn yn ein proffes.
4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
l5 Canys nid oes i ni Archoffeiriad heb fedru cyd-ddioddef gyda’n gwendid ni; ond wedi ei demtio ym mhob peth yr un ffunud a ninnau, eto heb bechod.
4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

4:16 Am hynny awn yn hyderus at orseddfainc y gras, fel y derbyniom drugaredd, ac y caffom ras yn gymorth cyfamserol.
4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

PENNOD 5
5:1 Canys pob archoffeiriad wedi ei gymryd o blith dynion, a osodir dros ddynion yn y pethau sydd tuag at Dduw, fel yr offrymo roddion ac aberthau dros bechodau:
5:1 For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:

5:2 Yr hwn a ddichon dosturio wrth y rhai sydd mewn anwybodaeth ac amryfusedd; am ei fod yntau hefyd wedi ei amgylchu â gwendid.
5:2 Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.

5:3 Ac o achos hyn y dylai, megis dros y bobl, felly hefyd drosto ei hun, offrymu dros bechodau.
5:3 And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.

5:4 Ac nid yw neb yn cymryd yr anrhydedd hwn iddo ei hun, ond yr hwn a alwyd gan Dduw, megis Aaron.
5:4 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

5:5 Felly Crist hefyd nis gogoneddodd ei hun i fod yn Archoffeiriad; ond yr hwn a ddywedodd wrtho, Tydi yw fy Mab; myfi heddiw a’th genhedlais di.
5:5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

5:6 Megis y mae yn dywedyd mewn lle arall, Offeiriad wyt ti yn dragywydd yn ôl urdd Melchisedec.
5:6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

5:7 Yr hwn yn nyddiau ei gnawd, gwedi iddo, trwy lefain cryf a dagrau, offrwm gweddïau ac erfyniau at yr hwn oedd abl i’w achub ef oddi with farwolacth, a chael ei wrando yn yr hyn a ofnodd;
5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

5:8 Er ei fod yn Fab, a ddysgodd ufudd-dod trwy’r pethau a ddioddefodd:
5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

5:9 Ac wedi ei berffeithio, efe a wnaethpwyd yn Awdur iachawdwriaeth dragwyddol i’r rhai oll a ufuddhant iddo;
5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

5:10 Wedi ei gyfenwi gan Dduw yn Archoffeiriad yn ôl urdd Melchisedec.
5:10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

5:11 Am yr hwn y mae i ni lawer i’w dywedyd, ac anodd eu traethu, o achos eich bod chwi yn hwyrdrwm eich clustiau.
5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

5:12 Canys lle dylech fod yn athrawon o ran amser, y mae arnoch drachefn eisiau dysgu i chwi beth ydyw egwyddorion dechreuad ymadroddion Duw: ac yr ydych yn rhaid i chwi wrth laeth, ac nid bwyd cryf.
5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

5:13 Canys pob un a’r sydd yn ymarfer â llaeth, sydd anghynefin â gair cyf- iawnder; canys maban yw.
5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

5:14 Eithr bwyd cryf a berthyn i’r rhai perffaith, y rhai oherwydd cynefindra y mae ganddynt synnwyr wedi ymarfer i ddosbarthu drwg a da.
5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

PENNOD 6
6:1 Am hynny, gan roddi heibio yr ymadrodd sydd yn dechrau rhai yng Nghrist, awn rhagom at berffeithrwydd; heb osod i lawr drachefn sail i edifeirwch oddi wrth weithredoedd meirwon, ac i ffydd tuag at Dduw,
6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

6:2 I athrawiaeth bedyddiadau, ac arddodiad dwylo, ac atgyfodiad y meirw, a’r farn dragwyddol.
6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

6:3 A hyn a wnawn, os caniatâ Duw.
6:3 And this will we do, if God permit.

6:4 Canys amhosibl yw i’r rhai a oleuwyd unwaith, ac a brofasant y rhodd nefol, ac a wnaethpwyd yn gyfranogion o’r Ysbryd Glân,
6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

6:5 Ac a brofasant ddaionus air Duw, a nerthoedd y byd a ddaw,
6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6:6 Ac a syrthiant ymaith, ymadnewyddu drachefn i edifeirwch, gan eu bod yn ailgroeshoelio iddynt eu hunain Fab Duw, ac yn ei osod yn watwar.
6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

6:7 Canys y ddaear, yr hon sydd yn yfed y glaw sydd yn mynych ddyfod arni, ac yn dwyn llysiau cymwys i’r rhai y llafurir hi ganddynt, sydd yn derbyn bendith gan Dduw:
6:7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

6:8 Eithr yr hon sydd yn dwyn drain a mieri, sydd anghymeradwy, ac agos i felltith; diwedd yr hon yw, ei llosgi.
6:8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

6:9 Eithr yr ydym ni yn coelio amdanoch chwi, anwylyd, bethau gwell, a phethau ynglŷn wrth iachawdwriaeth, er ein bod yn dywedyd fel hyn.
6:9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

6:10 Canys nid yw Duw yn anghyfiawn fel yr anghofio eich gwaith, a’r llafurus gariad, yr hwn a ddangosasoch tuag at ei enw ef, y rhai a weiniasoch i’r saint, ac ydych yn gweini.
6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

6:11 Ac yr ydym yn chwennych fod i bol un ohonoch ddangos yr un diwydrwydd er mwyn llawn sicrwydd gobaith hyd y diwedd:
6:11 And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

6:12 Fel na byddoch fusgrell, eithr yn ddilynwyr i’r rhai trwy ffydd ac amynedd sydd yn etifeddu’r addewidion.
6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

6:13 Canys Duw, wrth wneuthur addewid i Abraham, oblegid na allai dyngu, neb oedd fwy, a dyngodd iddo ei hun,
6:13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

6:14 Gan ddywedyd, Yn ddiau gan fendithio y’th fendithiaf, a chan amlhau y’th amlhaf.
6:14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

6:15 Ac felly, wedi iddo hirymaros, efe a gafodd yr addewid.
6:15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

6:16 Canys dynion yn wir sydd yn tyngu i un a fo mwy: a llw er sicrwydd sydd derfyn iddynt ar bob ymryson.
6:16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

6:17 Yn yr hyn Duw, yn ewyllysio yn helaethach ddangos i etifeddion yr addewid ddianwadalwch ei gyngor, a gyfryngodd trwy lw:
6:17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to show unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

6:18 Fel trwy ddau beth dianwadal, yn y rhai yr oedd yn amhosibl i Dduw fod yn gelwyddog, y gallem ni gael cysur cryf: y rhai a ffoesom i gymryd gafael yn y gobaith a osodwyd o’n blaen;
6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

6:19 Yr hwn sydd gennym ni megis angor yr enaid, yn ddiogel ac yn sicr, ac yn myned i mewn hyd at yr hyn sydd o’r tu fewn i’r lien,
6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

6:20 I’r man yr aeth y rhagflaenor drosom ni, sef Iesu, yr hwn a wnaethpwyd yn Archoffeiriad yn dragwyddol yn ôl urdd Melchisedec.
6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

PENNOD 7
7:1 Canys y Melchisedec hwn, brenin Salem, offeiriad y Duw Goruchaf, yr hwn a gyfarfu ag Abraham wrth ddychwelyd o ladd y brenhinoedd, ac a’i bendithiodd ef;
7:1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

7:2 I’r hwn hefyd y cyfrannodd Abraham ddegwm o bob peth: yr hwn yn gyntaf, o’i gyfieithu, yw Brenin cyfiawnder, ac wedi hynny hefyd, Brenin Salem, yr hyn yw, Brenin heddwch,
7:2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

7:3 Heb dad, heb fam, heb achau, heb fod iddo na dechrau dyddiau, na diwedd einioes; eithr wedi ei wneuthur yn gyffelyb i Fab Duw, sydd yn aros yn Offeiriad yn dragywydd.
7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

7:4 Edrychwch faint oedd hwn, i’r hwn hefyd y rhoddodd Abraham y patriarch ddegwm o’r anrhaith.
7:4 Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

7:5 A’r rhai yn wir sydd o feibion Lefi yn derbyn swydd yr offeiriadaeth, y mae ganddynt orchymyn i gymryd degwm gan y bobl yn ôl y gyfraith, sef gan eu brodyr, er eu bod wedi dyfod o lwynau Abraham:
7:5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

7:6 Eithr yr hwn nid oedd ei achau ohonynt hwy, a gymerodd ddegwm gan Abraham, ac a fendithiodd yr hwn yr oedd yr addewidion iddo,
7:6 But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

7:7 Ac yn ddi-ddadl, yr hwn sydd leiaf a fendithir gan ei well.
7:7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

7:8 Ac yma y mae dynion y rhai sydd yn meirw yn cymryd degymau: eithr yno, yr hwn y tystiolaethwyd amdano ei fod ef yn fyw.
7:8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

7:9 Ac, fel y dywedwyf felly, yn Abraham y talodd Lefi hefyd ddegwm, yr hwn oedd yn cymryd degymau.
7:9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.

7:10 Oblegid yr ydoedd efe eto yn lwynau ei dad, pan gyfarfu Melchisedec ag ef.
7:10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

7:11 Os ydoedd gan hynny berffeithrwydd trwy offeiriadaeth Lefi, (oblegid dan honno y rhoddwyd y gyfraith i’r bobl,) pa raid oedd mwyach godi Offeiriad arall yn ôl urdd Melchisedec, ac nas gelwid ef yn ôl urdd Aaron?
7:11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?


7:12 Canys wedi newidio’r offeiriadaeth anghenraid yw bod cyfnewid ar y gyfraith hefyd.
7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

7:13 Oblegid am yr hwn y dywedir y pethau hyn, efe a berthyn i lwyth arall, o’r hwn nid oedd neb yn gwasanaethu’r allor.
7:13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

7:14 Canys hysbys yw, mai o Jwda y cododd ein Harglwydd ni, am yr hwn lwyth ni ddywedodd Moses ddim tuag at offeiriadaeth.
7:14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

7:15 Ac y mae’n eglurach o lawer eto; od oes yn ôl cyffelybrwydd Melchisedec Offeiriad arall yn codi,
7:15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

7:16 Yr hwn a wnaed, nid yn ôl cyfraith gorchymyn cnawdol, eithr yn ôl nerth bywyd annherfynol.
7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

7:17 Canys tystiolaethu y mae, Offeiriad wyt ti yn dragywydd yn ôl urdd Melchisedec.
7:17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

7:18 Canys yn ddiau y mae dirymiad i’r gorchymyn sydd yn myned o’r blaen, oherwydd ei lesgedd a’i afles.
7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

7:19 Oblegid ni pherffeithiodd y gyfraith i ddim, namyn dwyn gobaith gwell i mewn a berffeithiodd; trwy yr hwn yr ydym yn nesáu at Dduw.
7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

7:20 Ac yn gymaint nad heb lw y gwnaethpwyd ef yn Offeiriad:
7:20 And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:

7:21 (Canys y rhai hynny yn wir ydynt wedi eu gwneuthur yn offeiriaid heb lw: ond hwn trwy lw, gan yr hwn a ddywedodd wrtho, Tyngodd yr Arglwydd, ac ni bydd edifar ganddo, Ti sydd Offeiriad yn dragywydd yn ôl urdd Melchisedec:)
7:21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)

7:22 Ar destament gwell o hynny y gwnaethpwyd Iesu yn Fachnïydd.
7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

7:23 A’r rhai hynny yn wir, llawer sydd wedi eu gwneuthur yn offeiriaid, oherwydd lluddio iddynt gan farwolaeth barhau:
7:23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:

7:24 Ond hwn, am ei fod ef yn aros yn dragywydd, sydd ag offeiriadaeth dragwyddol ganddo.
7:24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

7:25 Am hynny efe a ddichon hefyd yn gwbl iacháu’r rhai trwyddo ef sydd yn dyfod at Dduw, gan ei fod ef yn byw bob amser i eiriol drostynt hwy.
7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

7:26 Canys y cyfryw Archoffeiriad sanctaidd, diddrwg, dihalog, didoledig oddi wrth bechaduriaid, ac wedi ei wneuthur yn uwch na’r nefoedd, oedd weddus i ni;
7:26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

7:27 Yr hwn nid yw raid iddo beunydd, megis i’r offeiriaid hynny, offrymu aberthau yn gyntaf dros ei bechodau ei hun, ac yna dros yr eiddo’r bobl: canys hynny a wnaeth efe unwaith, pan offrymodd efe ef ei hun.
7:27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

7:28 Canys y gyfraith sydd yn gwneuthur dynion a gwendid ynddynt, yn archoffeiriaid; eithr gair y llw, yr hwn a fu wedi’r gyfraith, sydd yn gwneuthur y Mab, yr hwn a berffeithiwyd yn dragywydd.
7:28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
 

PENNOD 8
8:1 A phen ar y pethau a ddywedwyd yw hyn: Y mae gennym y fath Archoffeiriad, yr hwn a eisteddodd ar ddeheulaw gorseddfainc y Mawredd yn y nefoedd;
8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

8:2 Yn Weinidog y gysegrfa, a’r gwir dabernacl, yr hwn a osododd yr Arglwydd, ac nid dyn.
8:2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

8:3 Canys pob archoffeiriad a osodir i offrymu rhoddion ac aberthau: oherwydd paham rhaid oedd bod gan hwn hefyd yr hyn a offrymai.
8:3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.

8:4 Canys yn wir pe bai efe ar y ddaear, ni byddai yn offeiriad chwaith; gan fod offeiriaid y rhai sydd yn offrymu rhoddion yn ôl y ddeddf:
8:4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:

8:5 Y rhai sydd yn gwasanaethu i siampl a chysgod y pethau nefol, megis y rhybuddiwyd Moses gan Dduw, pan oedd efe ar fedr gorffen y babell: canys, Gwêl, medd efe, ar wneuthur ohonot bob peth yn ôl y portreiad a ddangoswyd i ti yn y mynydd.
8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern showed to thee in the mount.

8:6 Ond yn awr efe a gafodd weinidogaeth mwy rhagorol, o gymaint ag y mae hyn Gyfryngwr cyfamod gwell, yr hwn sydd wedi ei osod ar addewidion gwell.
8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

8:7 Oblegid yn wir pe buasai’r cyntaf hwnnw yn ddifeius, ni cheisiasid lle i’r ail.
8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8:8 Canys yn beio arnynt hwy y dywed efe, Wele, y mae’r dyddiau yn dyfod, medd yr Arglwydd, ac mi a wnaf â thŷ Israel ac â thŷ Jwda gyfamod newydd:
8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

8:9 Nid fel y cyfamod a wneuthum â’u tadau hwynt, yn y dydd yr ymeflais yn eu llaw hwynt i’w dwyn hwy o dir yr Aifft: oblegid ni thrigasant hwy yn fy nghyfamod i, minnau a’u hesgeulusais hwythau, medd yr Arglwydd.
8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

8:10 Oblegid hwn yw’r cyfamod a amodaf fi â thŷ Israel ar ôl y dyddiau hynny, medd yr Arglwydd, Myfi a ddodaf fy nghyfreithiau yn eu meddwl, ac yn eu calonnau yr ysgrifennaf hwynt: a mi a fyddaf iddynt hwy yn Dduw, a hwythau a fyddant i minnau yn bobl:
8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

8:11 Ac ni ddysgant bob un ei gymydog, a phob un ei frawd, gan ddywedyd, Adnebydd yr Arglwydd: oblegid hwynt-hwy oll a’m hadnabyddant i, o’r lleiaf ohonynt hyd y mwyaf ohonynt.
8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

8:12 Canys trugarog fyddaf wrth eu hanghyfiawnderau, a’u pechodau hwynt a’u hanwireddau ni chofiaf ddim ohonynt mwyach.
8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

8:13 Wrth ddywedyd, Cyfamod newydd, efe a farnodd y cyntaf yn hen. Eithr yr hwn a aeth yn hen ac yn oedrannus, sydd agos i ddiflannu.
8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

PENNOD 9
9:1 Am hynny yn wir yr ydoedd hefyd i’r tabernacl cyntaf ddefodau gwasanaeth Duw, a chysegr bydol.
9:1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.

9:2 Canys yr oedd tabernacl wedi ei wneuthur; y cyntaf, yn yr hwn yr oedd y canhwyllbren, a’r bwrdd, a’r bara gosod; yr hwn dabernacl a elwid, Y cysegr.
9:2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the showbread; which is called the sanctuary.

9:3 Ac yn ôl yr ail len, yr oedd y babell, yr hon a elwid, Y cysegr sancteiddiolaf;
9:3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;

9:4 Yr hwn yr oedd y thuser aur ynddo, ac arch y cyfamod wedi ei goreuro o amgylch: yn yr hon yr oedd y crochan aur a’r manna ynddo, a gwialen Aaron yr hon a flagurasai, a llechau’r cyfamod:
9:4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;

9:5 Ac uwch ei phen ceriwbiaid y gogoniant yn cysgodi’r drugareddfa: am y rhai ni ellir yn awr ddywedyd bob yn rhan.
9:5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.

9:6 A’r pethau hyn wedi eu trefnu felly, i’r tabernacl cyntaf yn ddiau yr âi bob amser yr offeiriaid, y rhai oedd yn cyflawni gwasanaeth Duw:
9:6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.

9:7 Ac i’r ail, unwaith bob blwyddyn yr âi’r archoffeiriad yn unig; nid heb waed, yr hwn a offrymai efe drosto’i hun, a thros anwybodaeth y bobl.
9:7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:

9:8 A’r Ysbryd Glân yn hysbysu hyn, nac oedd y ffordd i’r cysegr sancteiddiolaf yn agored eto, tra fyddai’r tabernacl cyntaf yn sefyll:
9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:

9:9 Yr hwn ydoedd gyffelybiaeth dros yr amser presennol, yn yr hwn yr offrymid rhoddion ac aberthau, y rhai ni allent o ran cydwybod berffeithio’r addolydd;
9:9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

9:10 Y rhai oedd yn sefyll yn unig ar fwydydd, a diodydd, ac amryw olchiadau, a defodau cnawdol, wedi eu gosod arnynt hyd amser y diwygiad.
9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

9:11 Eithr Crist, wedi dyfod yn Archoffeiriad y daionus bethau a fyddent, trwy dabernacl mwy a pherffeithiach, nid o waith llaw, hynny yw, nid o’r adeiladaeth yma;
9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

9:12 Nid chwaith trwy waed geifr a lloi, eithr trwy ei waed ei hun, a aeth unwaith i mewn i’r cysegr, gan gad i ni dragwyddol ryddhad.
9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

9:13 Oblegid os ydyw gwaed teirw a geifr, a lludw anner wedi ei daenellu ar y rhai a halogwyd, yn sancteiddio i bureiddiad y cnawd;
9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

9:14 Pa faint mwy y bydd i waed Crist, yr hwn trwy’r Ysbryd tragwyddol a’i hoffrymodd ei hun yn ddifai i Dduw, buro eich cydwybod chwi oddi wrth weithredoedd meirwon, i wasanaethu’r Duw byw?
9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

9:15 Ac am hynny y mae efe yn Gyfryngwr y cyfamod newydd, megis trwy fod marwolaeth yn ymwared oddi wrth y troseddau oedd dan y cyfamod cyntaf, y câi’r rhai a alwyd dderbyn addewid yr etifeddiaeth dragwyddol.
9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

9:16 Oblegid lle byddo testament, rhaid yw digwyddo marwolaeth y testamentwr.
9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

9:17 Canys wedi marw dynion y mae testament mewn grym: oblegid nid oes eto nerth ynddo tra fyddo’r testamentwr yn fyw.
9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

9:18 O ba achos ni chysegrwyd y cyntaf heb waed.
9:18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

9:19 Canys wedi i Moses adrodd yr holl orchymyn yn ôl y gyfraith wrth yr holl bobl, efe a gymerodd waed lloi a geifr, gyda dwfr, a gwlân porffor, ac isop, ac a’i taenellodd ar y llyfr a’r bobl oll,
9:19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

9:20 Gan ddywedyd, Hwn yw gwaed y testament a orchmynnodd Duw i chwi.
9:20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

9:21 Y tabernacl hefyd a holl lestri’r gwasanaeth a daenellodd efe a gwaed yr un modd.
9:21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.

9:22 A chan mwyaf trwy waed y purir pob peth wrth y gyfraith; ac heb ollwng gwaed nid oes maddeuant.
9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

9:23 Rhaid oedd gan hynny i bortreiadau’r pethau sydd yn y nefoedd gael eu puro â’r pethau hyn, a’r pethau nefol eu hunain ag aberthau gwell na’r rhai hyn.
9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

9:24 Canys nid i’r cysegr o waith llaw, portreiad y gwir gysegr, yr aeth Crist i mewn; ond i’r nef ei hun, i ymddangos yn awr gerbron Duw trosom ni:
9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

9:25 Nac fel yr offrymai efe ei hun yn fynych, megis y mae’r archoffeiriad yn myned i mewn i’r cysegr bob blwyddyn, a gwaed arall:
9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

9:26 (Oblegid yna rhaid fuasai iddo’n fynych ddioddef er dechreuad y byd;) eithr yr awron unwaith yn niwedd y byd yr ymddangosodd efe, i ddileu pechod trwy ei aberthu ei hun.
9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

9:27 Ac megis y gosodwyd i ddynion farw unwaith, ac wedi hynny bod barn:
9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

9:28 Felly Crist hefyd, wedi ei offrymu unwaith i ddwyn ymaith bechodau llawer, a ymddengys yr ail waith, heb bechod, i’r rhai sydd yn ei ddisgwyl, er iachawdwriaeth.
9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

PENNOD 10
10:1 Oblegid y gyfraith, yr hon sydd ganddi gysgod daionus bethau i ddyfod, ac nid gwir ddelw y pethau, nis gall trwy’r aberthau hynny, y rhai y maent bob biwyddyn yn eu hoffrymu yn wastadol, byth berffeithio’r rhai a ddêl ati.
10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

10:2 Oblegid yna hwy a beidiasent â’u hoffrymu, am na buasai gydwybod pechod mwy gan y rhai a addolasent, wedi eu glanhau unwaith.
10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

10:3 Eithr yn yr aberthau hynny y mae atgoffa pechodau bob blwyddyn.
10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

10:4 Canys amhosibl yw i waed teirw a geifr dynnu ymaith bechodau.
10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

10:5 Oherwydd paham y mae efe, wrth ddyfod i’r byd, yn dywedyd, Aberth ac offrwm nis mynnaist, eithr corff a gymhwysaist i mi:
10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

10:6 Offrymau poeth, a thros bechod, ni buost fodlon iddynt.
10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

10:7 Yna y dywedais, Wele fi yn dyfod, (y mae yn ysgrifenedig yn nechrau y llyfr amdanaf,) i wneuthur dy ewyllys di, O Dduw.
10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

10:8 Wedi iddo ddywedyd uchod, Aberth ac offrwm, ac offrymau poeth, a thros bechod, nis mynnaist, ac nid ymfodlonaist ynddynt; y rhai yn ôl y gyfraith a offrymir;
10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

10:9 Yna y dywedodd, Wele fi yn dyfod i wneuthur dy ewyllys di, O Dduw. Y mae yn tynnu ymaith y cyntaf, fel y gosodai yr ail.
10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

10:10 Trwy yr hwn ewyllys yr ydym ni wedi ein sancteiddio, trwy offrymiad corff Iesu Grist unwaith.
10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

10:11 Ac y mae pob offeiriad yn sefyll beunydd yn gwasanaethu, ac yn offrymu yn fynych yr un aberthau, y rhai ni allant fyth ddileu pechodau:
10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

10:12 Eithr hwn, wedi offrymu un aberth dros bechodau, yn dragywydd a eisteddodd ar ddeheulaw Duw,
10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

10:13 O hyn allan yn disgwyl hyd oni osoder ei elynion ef yn droedfainc i’w draed ef.
10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

10:14 Canys ag un offrwm y perffeithiodd efe yn dragwyddol y rhai sydd wedi eu sancteiddio.
10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

10:15 Ac y mae’r Ysbryd Glân hefyd yn tystiolaethu i ni: canys wedi iddo ddy wedyd o’r blaen,
10:15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

10:16 Dyma’r cyfamod yr hwn a amodaf i â hwynt ar ôl y dyddiau hynny, medd yr Arglwydd, Myfi a osodaf fy nghyfreithiau yn eu calonnau, ac a’u hysgrifennaf yn eu meddyliau,
10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

10:17 A’u pechodau a’u hanwireddau ni chofiaf mwyach.
10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

10:18 A lle y mae maddeuant am y rhai hyn, nid oes mwyach offrwm dros bechod.
10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

10:19 Am hynny, frodyr, gan fod i ni ryddid i fyned i mewn i’r cysegr trwy waed Iesu,
10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

10:20 Ar hyd ffordd newydd a bywiol, yr hon a gysegrodd efe i ni, trwy’r llen, sef ei gnawd ef;
10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

10:21 A bod i ni Offeiriad mawr ar dŷ Dduw:
10:21 And having an high priest over the house of God;

10:22 Nesawn â chalon gywir, mewn llawn hyder ffydd, wedi glanhau ein calonnau oddi wrth gydwybod ddrwg, a golchi ein corff â dwfr glan.
10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

10:23 Daliwn gyffes ein gobaith yn ddisigl; (canys ffyddlon yw’r hwn a addawodd;)
10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

10:24 A chydystyriwn bawb ein gilydd, i ymannog i gariad a gweithredoedd da:
10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

10:25 Heb esgeuluso ein cydgynulliad ein hunain, megis y mae arfer rhai, ond annog bawb ein gilydd: a hynny yn fwy, o gymaint â’ch bod yn gweled y dydd yn nesáu.
10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

10:26 Canys os o’n gwirfodd y pechwn, ar ôl derbyn gwybodaeth y gwirionedd, nid oes aberth dros bechodau wedi ei adael mwyach,
10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

10:27 Eithr rhyw ddisgwyl ofnadwy am farnedigaeth, ac angerdd tan, yr hwn a ddifa’r gwrthwynebwyr.
10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

10:28 Yr un a ddirmygai gyfraith Moses, a fyddai farw heb drugaredd, dan ddau neu dri o dystion:
10:28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

10:29 Pa faint mwy cosbedigaeth, dybygwch chwi, y bernir haeddu o’r hwn a fathrodd Fab Duw, ac a farnodd yn aflan waed y cyfamod, trwy’r hwn y sancteiddiwyd ef, ac a ddifenwodd Ysbryd y gras?
10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

10:30 Canys nyni a adwaenom y neb a ddywedodd, Myfi biau dial, myfi a dalaf, medd yr Arglwydd. A thrachefn, Yr Arglwydd a farna ei bobl.
10:30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

10:31 Peth ofnadwy yw syrthio yn nwylo’r Duw byw.
10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

10:32 Ond gelwch i’ch cof y dyddiau o’r blaen, yn y rhai, wedi eich goleuo, y dioddefasoch ymdrech mawr o helbulon:
10:32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;

10:33 Wedi eich gwneuthur weithiau yn wawd, trwy waradwyddiadau a chystuddiau, ac weithiau yn bod yn gyfranogion â’r rhai a drinid felly.
10:33 Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.

10:34 Canys chwi a gyd-ddioddefasoch â’m rhwymau i hefyd, ac a gymerasoch eich ysbeilio am y pethau oedd gennych yn llawen; gan wybod fod gennych i chwi eich hunain olud gwell yn y nefoedd, ac un parhaus.
10:34 For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

10:35 Am hynny na fwriwch ymaith eich hyder, yr hwn sydd iddo fawr wobr.
10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.

10:36 Canys rhaid i chwi wrth amynedd; fel, wedi i chwi wneuthur ewyllys Duw, y derbynioch.yr addewid.
10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

10:37 Oblegid ychydig bachigyn eto, a’r hwn sydd yn dyfod a ddaw, ac nid oeda.
10:37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

10:38 A’r cyfiawn a fydd byw trwy ffydd: eithr o thyn neb yn ôl, nid yw fy enaid yn ymfodloni ynddo.
10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

10:39 Eithr nid ydym ni o’r rhai sydd yn tynnu yn ôl i golledigaeth; namyn o ffydd, i gadwedigaeth yr enaid.
10:39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

PENNOD 11
11:1 Ffydd yn wir yw sail y pethau yr ydys yn eu gobeithio, a sicrwydd y pethau nid ydys yn eu gweled.
11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

11:2 Oblegid trwyddi hi y cafodd yr henuriaid air da.
11:2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.

11:3 Wrth ffydd yr ydym yn deall wneuthur y bydoedd trwy air Duw, yn gymaint nad o bethau gweledig y gwnaed y pethau a welir.
11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

11:4 Trwy ffydd yr offrymodd Abel i Dduw aberth rhagorach na Chain; trwy yr hon y cafodd efe dystiolaeth ei fod yn gyfiawn, gan i Dduw ddwyn tystiolaeth i’w roddion ef: a thrwyddi hi y mae efe, wedi marw, yn llefaru eto.
11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

11:5 Trwy ffydd y symudwyd Enoch, fel na welai farwolaeth, ac ni chaed ef, am ddarfod i Dduw ei symud ef: canys cyn ei symud, efe a gawsai dystiolaeth, ddarfod iddo ryngu bodd Duw.
11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

11:6 Eithr heb ffydd amhosibl yw rhyngu ei fodd ef: oblegid rhaid yw i’r neb sydd yn dyfod at Dduw, gredu ei fod ef, a’i fod yn obrwywr i’r rhai sydd yn ei geisio
11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

11:7 Trwy ffydd, Noe, wedi ei rybuddio gan Dduw am y pethau nis gwelsid eto, gyda pharchedig ofn a ddarparodd arch i achub ei dŷ: trwy’r hon y condemniodd efe y byd, ac a wnaethpwyd yn etifedd y cyfiawnder sydd o ffydd.
11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

11:8 Trwy ffydd, Abraham, pan ei galwyd, a ufuddhaodd, gan fyned i’r man yr oedd efe i’w dderbyn yn etifeddiaeth, ac a aeth allan, heb wybod i ba le yr oedd yn myned.
11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

11:9 Trwy ffydd yr ymdeithiodd efe yn nhir yr addewid, megis mewn tir dieithr, gan drigo mewn lluestai gydag Isaac a Jacob, cyd-etifeddion o’r un addewid:
11:9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

11:10 Canys disgwyl yr ydoedd am ddinas ag iddi sylfeini, saer ac adeiladydd yr hon yw Duw.
11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11:11 Trwy ffydd Sara hithau yn amhlantadwy, a dderbyniodd nerth i ymddwyn had, ac wedi amser oedran, a esgorodd; oblegid ffyddlon y barnodd hi yr hwn a addawsai.
11:11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

11:12 Oherwydd paham hefyd y cenhedlwyd o un, a hwnnw yn gystal â marw, cynifer a sêr y nef mewn lliaws, ac megis y tywod ar lan y môr, y sydd yn aneirif.
11:12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

11:13 Mewn ffydd y bu farw’r rhai hyn oll, heb dderbyn yr addewidion, eithr o bell eu gweled hwynt, a chredu, a chyfarch, a chyfaddef mai dieithriaid a phererinion oeddynt ar y ddaear.
11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

11:14 Canys y mae’r rhai sydd yn dywedyd y cyfryw bethau, yn dangos yn eglur eu bod yn ceisio gwlad.
11:14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

11:15 Ac yn wir, pe buasent yn meddwl am y wlad honno, o’r hon y daethent allan, i hwy a allasent gael amser i ddychwelyd:
11:15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

11:16 Eithr yn awr gwlad well y maent hwy yn ei chwennych, hynny ydyw, un nefol: o achos paham nid cywilydd gan Dduw ei alw yn Dduw iddynt hwy: oblegid efe a baratôdd ddinas iddynt.
11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

11:17 Trwy ffydd yr offrymodd Abraham Isaac, pan ei profwyd: a’i unig-anedig fab a offrymodd efe, yr hwn a dderbyniasai’r addewidion:
11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son.

11:18 Wrth yr hwn y dywedasid, Yn Isaac y gelwir i ti had:
11:18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

11:19 Gan gyfrif bod Duw yn abl i’w gyfodi ef o feirw; o ba le y cawsai efe ef hefyd mewn cyffelybiaeth.
11:19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

11:20 Trwy ffydd y bendithiodd Isaac Jacob ac Esau am bethau a fyddent.
11:20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

11:21 Trwy ffydd, Jacob, wrth farw, a fendithiodd bob un o feibion Joseff; ac a addolodd â’i bwys ar ben ei ffon.
11:21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.

11:22 Trwy ffydd, Joseff, wrth farw, a goffaodd am ymadawiad plant Israel; ac a roddodd orchymyn am ei esgyrn.
11:22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.

11:23 Trwy ffydd, Moses, pan anwyd, a guddiwyd dri mis gan ei rieni, o achos eu bod yn ei weled yn fachgen tlws: ac nid ofnasant orchymyn y brenin.
11:23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.

11:24 Trwy ffydd, Moses, wedi myned yn fawr, a wrthododd ei alw yn fab merch Pharo,
11:24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;

11:25 Gan ddewis yn hytrach oddef adfyd gyda phobl Dduw, na chael mwyniant pechod dros amser;
11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

11:26 Gan farnu yn fwy golud ddirmyg Crist na thrysorau’r Aifft: canys edrych yr oedd efe ar daledigaeth y gobrwy.
11:26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.

11:27 Trwy ffydd y gadawodd efe yr Aifft, heb ofni llid y brenin: canys efe a ymwrolodd fel un yn gweled yr anweledig.
11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

11:28 Trwy ffydd y gwnaeth efe y pasg, a gollyngiad y gwaed, rhag i’r hwn ydoedd yn dinistrio’r rhai cyntaf-anedig gyffwrdd â hwynt.
11:28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

11:29 Trwy ffydd yr aethant trwy’r môr coch, megis ar hyd tir sych: yr hyn pan brofodd yr Eifftiaid, boddi a wnaethant.
11:29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.

11:30 Trwy ffydd y syrthiodd caerau Jericho, wedi eu hamgylchu dros saith niwrnod.
11:30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.

11:31 Trwy ffydd ni ddifethwyd Rahab y butain gyda’r rhai ni chredent, pan dderbyniodd hi’r ysbïwyr yn heddychol.
11:31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

11:32 A pheth mwy a ddywedaf? canys yr amser a ballai i mi i fynegi am Gedeon, am Barac, ac am Samson, ac am Jefftha, am Dafydd hefyd, a Samuel, a’r proffwydi;
11:32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

11:33 Y rhai trwy ffydd a oresgynasant deyrnasoedd, a wnaethant gyfiawnder, a gawsant addewidion, a gaeasant safnau llewod,
11:33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

11:34 A ddiffoddasant angerdd y tân, a ddianghasant rhag min y cleddyf, a nerthwyd o wendid, a wnaethpwyd yn gryfion mewn rhyfel, a yrasant fyddinoedd yr estroniaid i gilio.
11:34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

11:35 Gwragedd a dderbyniodd eu meirw trwy atgyfodiad: ac eraill a ddirdynnwyd, heb dderbyn ymwared, fel y gallent hwy gael atgyfodiad gwell.
11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

11:36 Ac eraill a gawsant brofedigaeth trwy watwar a fflangellau, ie, trwy rwymau hefyd a charchar:
11:36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:

11:37 Hwynt-hwy a labyddiwyd, a dorrwyd â llif, a demtiwyd, a laddwyd yn feirw â’r cleddyf, a grwydrasant mewn crwyn defaid, a chrwyn geifr; yn ddiddim, yn gystuddiol, yn ddrwg eu cyflwr;
11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;

11:38 (Y rhai nid oedd y byd yn deilwng ohonynt,) yn crwydro mewn anialwch, a mynyddoedd, a thyllau ac ogofeydd y ddaear.
11:38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

11:39 A’r rhai hyn oll, wedi cael tystiolaeth trwy ffydd, ni dderbyniasant yr addewid:
11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

11:40 Gan fod Duw yn rhagweled rhyw beth gwell amdanom ni, fel na pherffeithid hwynt hebom ninnau.
11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

12:1 Oblegid hynny ninnau hefyd, gan fod cymaint cwmwl o dystion wedi ei osod o’n hamgylch, gan roi heibio bob pwys, a’r pechod sydd barod i’n hamgylchu, trwy amynedd rhedwn yr yrfa a osodwyd o’n blaen ni,
12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

12:2 Gan edrych ar Iesu, Pen-tywysog a Pherffeithydd ein ffydd ni; yr hwn, yn lle’r llawenydd a osodwyd iddo, a ddioddefodd y groes, gan ddiystyru gwaradwydd, ac a eisteddodd ar ddeheulaw gorseddfainc Duw.
12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

12:3 Ystyriwch am hynny yr hwn a ddioddefodd gyfryw ddywedyd yn ei erbyn gan bechaduriaid; fel na flinoch, ac nad ymollyngoch yn eich eneidiau.
12:3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

12:4 Ni wrthwynebasoch eto hyd at waed, gan ymdrech yn erbyn pechod.
12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

12:5 A chwi a ollyngasoch dros gof y cyngor, yr hwn sydd yn dywedyd wrthych megis wrth blant, Fy mab, na ddirmyga gerydd yr Arglwydd, ac nac ymollwng pan y’th argyhoedder ganddo:
12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

12:6 Canys y neb y mae’r Arglwydd yn ei garu, y mae’n ei geryddu; ac yn fflangellu pob mab a dderbynio.
12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

12:7 Os goddefwch gerydd, y mae Duw yn ymddwyn tuag atoch megis tuag a feibion: canys pa fab sydd, yr hwn nid yw ei dad yn ei geryddu?
12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

12:8 Eithr os heb gerydd yr ydych, o’r hwn y mae pawb yn gyfrannog, yna bastardiaid ydych, ac nid meibion.
12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

12:9 Heblaw hynny, ni a gawsom dadau ein cnawd i’n ceryddu, ac a’u parchasom hwy: onid mwy o lawer y byddwn ddarostyngedig i Dad yr ysbrydoedd, a byw?
12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

12:10 Canys hwynt-hwy yn wir dros ychydig ddyddiau a’n ceryddent fel y gwelent hwy yn dda; eithr hwn er llesâd i ni, fel y byddem gyfranogion o’i sancteidd-rwydd ef.
12:10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

12:11 Eto ni welir un cerydd dros yr amser presennol yn hyfryd, eithr yn anhyfryd: ond gwedi hynny y mae yn rhoi heddych-ol ffrwyth cyfiawnder i’r rhai sydd wedi eu cynefino ag ef.
12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

12:12 Oherwydd paham cyfodwch i fyny’r dwylo a laesasant, a’r gliniau a ymollyngasant.
12:12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

12:13 A gwnewch lwybrau union i’ch traed; fel na throer y cloff allan o’r ffordd, ond yr iachaer efe yn hytrach.
12:13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

12:14 Dilynwch heddwch â phawb, a sancteiddrwydd, heb yr hwn ni chaiff neb weled yr Arglwydd:
12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

12:15 Gan edrych yn ddyfal na bo neb yn pallu oddi wrth ras Duw, rhag bod un gwreiddyn chwerwedd yn tyfu i fyny, ac yn peri blinder, a thrwy hwnnw llygru llawer,
12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

12:16 Na bo un puteiniwr, neu halogedig, megis Esau, yr hwn am un saig o fwyd a werthodd ei enedigaeth-fraint.
12:16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

12:17 Canys chwi a wyddoch ddarfod wedi hynny hefyd ei wrthod ef, pan oedd efe yn ewyllysio etifeddu’r fendith: oblegid ni chafodd efe le i edifeirwch, er iddo trwy ddagrau ei thaer geisio hi.
12:17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

12:18 Canys ni ddaethoch chwi at y mynydd teimladwy sydd yn llosgi gan dân, a chwmwl, a thywyllwch, a thymestl,
12:18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

12:19 A sain utgorn, a llef geiriau; yr hon pwy bynnag a’i clywsant, a ddeisyfasant na chwanegid yr ymadrodd wrthynt:
12:19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard entreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:

12:20 (Oblegid ni allent hwy oddef yr hyn a orchmynasid; Ac os bwystfil a gyffyrddai â’r mynydd, efe a labyddir, neu a wenir â phicell.
12:20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:

12:21 Ac mor ofnadwy oedd y golwg, ag y dywedodd Moses, Yr ydwyf yn ofni ac yn crynu.)
12:21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)

12:22 Eithr chwi a ddaethoch i fynydd Seion, ac i ddinas y Duw byw, y Jerwsalem nefol, ac at fyrddiwn o angylion,
12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

12:23 I gymanfa a chynulleidfa’r rhai cyntaf-anedig, y rhai a ysgrifennwyd yn y nefoedd, ac at Dduw, Barnwr pawb, ac at ysbrydoedd y cyfiawn y rhai a berffeithiwyd,
12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

12:24 Ac at Iesu, Cyfryngwr y testament newydd, a gwaed y taenelliad, yr hwn sydd yn dywedyd pethau gwell na’r eiddo Abel.
12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

12:25 Edrychwch na wrthodoch yr hwn sydd yn llefaru. Oblegid oni ddihangodd y rhai a wrthodasant yr hwn oedd yn llefaru ar y ddaear, mwy o lawer ni ddihangwn ni, y rhai ydym yn troi ymaith oddi wrth yr hwn sydd yn llefaru o’r nef:
12:25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

12:26 Llef yr hwn y pryd hwnnw a ysgydwodd y ddaear: ac yn awr a addawodd, gan ddywedyd, Eto unwaith yr wyf yn cynhyrfu nid yn unig y ddaear, ond y nef hefyd.
12:26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

12:27 A’r Eto unwaith hynny, sydd yn hysbysu symudiad y pethau a ysgydwir, megis pethau wedi eu gwneuthur, fel yr arhoso’r pethau nid ysgydwir.
12:27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

12:28 Oherwydd paham, gan ein bod ni yn derbyn teyrnas ddi-sigl, bydded gennym ras, trwy’r hwn y gwasanaethom Dduw wrth ei fodd, gyda gwylder a pharchedig ofn:
12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

12:29 Oblegid ein Duw ni sydd dân ysol.
12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.

PENNOD 13
13:1 Parhaed brawdgarwch.
13:1 Let brotherly love continue.

13:2 Nac anghofiwch letygarwch: canys wrth hynny y lletyodd rhai angylion yn ddiarwybod.
13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

13:3 Cofiwch y rhai sydd yn rhwym, fel petech yn rhwym gyda hwynt; y rhai cystuddiol, megis yn bod eich hunain hefyd yn y corff.
13:3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

13:4 Anrhydeddus yw priodas ym mhawb, a’r gwely dihalogedig: eithr puteinwyr a godinebwyr a farna Duw.
13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

13:5 Bydded eich ymarweddiad yn ddiariangar; gan fod yn fodlon i’r hyn sydd gennych: canys efe a ddywedodd, Ni’th roddaf di i fyny, ac ni’th lwyr adawaf chwaith:
13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

13:6 Fel y gallom ddywedyd yn hy, Yr Arglwydd sydd gymorth i mi, ac nid ofnaf beth a wnêl dyn i mi.
13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

13:7 Meddyliwch am eich blaenoriaid, y rhai a draethasant i chwi air Duw: ffydd y rhai dilynwch, gan ystyried diwedd eu hymarweddiad hwynt.
13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

13:8 Iesu Grist, ddoe a heddiw yr un, ac yn dragywydd.
13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

13:9 Na’ch arweinier oddi amgylch ag athrawiaethau amryw a dieithr: canys da yw bod y galon wedi ei chryfhau â gras, nid â bwydydd, yn y rhai ni chafodd y sawl a rodiasant ynddynt fudd.
13:9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

13:10 Y mae gennym ni allor, o’r hon nid oes awdurdod i’r rhai sydd yn gwasanaethu’r tabernacl i fwyta.
13:10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.

13:11 Canys cyrff yr anifeiliaid hynny, y rhai y dygir eu gwaed gan yr archoffeiriad i’r cysegr dros bechod, a losgir y tu allan i’r gwersyll.
13:11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.

13:12 Oherwydd paham Iesu hefyd, fel y sancteiddiai’r bobl trwy ei waed ei hun, a ddioddefodd y tu allan i’r porth.
13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

13:13 Am hynny awn ato ef o’r tu allan i’r gwersyll, gan ddwyn ei waradwydd ef.
13:13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

13:14 Canys nid oes i ni yma ddinas barhaus, eithr un i ddyfod yr ym ni yn ei disgwyl.
13:14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

13:15 Trwyddo ef gan hynny offrymwn aberth moliant yn wastadol i Dduw, yr hyn yw ffrwyth ein gwefusau yn cyffesu i’w enw ef.
13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

13:16 Ond gwneuthur daioni, a chyfrannu, nac anghofiwch: canys â chyfryw ebyrth y rhyngir binid Duw.
13:16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

13:17 Ufuddhcwch i’rh blaenoriaid, ac ymddarostyngwch: oblegid y maent hwy yn gwylio dros eich eneidiau chwi, megis rhai a fydd rhaid iddynt roddi cyfrif; fel y gallont wneuthur hynny yn llawen, ac nid yn drist: canys di-fudd i chwi yw hynny.
13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

13:18 Gweddiwch drosom ni: canys yr ydym yn credu fod gennym gydwybod dda, gan ewyllysio byw yn onest ym mhob peth.
13:18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

13:19 Ond yr ydwyf yn helaethach yn dymuno gwneuthur ohonoch hyn, i gael fy rhoddi i chwi drachefn yn gynt.
13:19 But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

13:20 A Duw’r heddwch, yr hwn a ddug drachefn oddi wrth y meirw ein Harglwydd Iesu, Bugail mawr y defaid, trwy waed y cyfamod tragwyddol,
13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

13:21 A’ch perffeithio ym mhob gweithred dda, i wneuthur ei ewyllys ef; gan weithio ynoch yr hyn sydd gymeradwy yn ei olwg ef, trwy Iesu Grist: i’r hwn y byddo’r gogoniant yn oes oesoedd. Amen.
13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

13:22 Ac yr ydwyf yn atolwg i chwi, frodyr, goddefwch air y cyngor: oblegid ar fyr eiriau yr ysgrifennais atoch.
13:22 And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.

13:23 Gwybyddwch ollwng ein brawd Timotheus yn rhydd; gyda’r hwn, os daw efe ar fyrder, yr ymwelaf â chwi.
13:23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.

13:24 Anerchwch eich holl flaenoriaid, a’r holl saint. Y mae’r rhai o’r Ital yn eich annerch.
13:24 Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.

13:25 Gras fyddo gyda chwi oll. Amen.
13:25 Grace be with you all. Amen.
